Former India opening batter Virender Sehwag is gearing up for the second season of the Legends League Cricket Season Two. Ahead of the tournament, he will play a benefit game for India Legends against World Giants. For the unversed, World Legends participated in the inaugural season of the tournament played in January this year. This time around, the three teams such as Asia Lions, India Maharajas, and World Giants played in the first season.
That season was played in Oman and had gathered a lot of popularity among Indian fans. Now, the organizers have decided to stage the tournament in India thanks to its popularity, and COVID-19 has most certainly been eradicated. Meanwhile, ahead of the tournament, Sehwag has started training in the nets. The right-hander uploaded videos of his batting on his official Instagram handle. He shared the video with the caption: "Taiyaari shuru #practice #kabhikabhikarletahoon #legendsleague"

The two-time World Cup winner will represent the Gujarat Giants in the upcoming season. The season will start on September 17. Notably, he hasn't participated in the ongoing Road Safety World Series 2022. With both tournaments clashing with each other, it can be safely assumed that the Delhi player decided to make a choice between both tournaments. When he was made the skipper of the Gujarat Giants, he had said that he was excited to get back on the field again.
"I am excited to get back to the Cricket ground again. Having Adani Group as Team Principal and a professional outfit like Gujarat Giants is a perfect way to kick start this cricketing inning once again. I have personally always believed in playing fearless cricket and I will continue to propagate the same brand of cricket here too. We are extremely excited and eagerly waiting for the draft to pick our team," Sehwag had earlier said.
