Sri Lanka and Pakistan played each other in the last game of the Super Four round before they play each other in the final again. Ahead of the game, Pakistan pacer Naseem Shah was rested. The Lankan Lions won the game by five wickets as the Green Brigade failed to score enough runs. Meanwhile, Shah is expected to play in the title clash against the same team.
After the game, Sri Lanka all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga and skipper Dasun Shanaka were addressing the media. During the post-match presser, one of the journalists asked Hasaranga about the threat Shah possesses “Do you think Naseem Shah will give you a tough time in the final?,” a journalist asked. To which the leg-spinner replied “We will see in the final,” he replied with a smile.

Talking about both players, Shah is the fifth-highest wicket-taker in the tournament with six scalps in four games. On the other hand, Hasaranga wasn't having a great time with the ball before the game against Pakistan. He took three wickets in the game to announce his arrival in the tournament. Talking about the final, the Lankan Lions have won five titles while Pakistan has only two in their name.
The Lankans will be looking to get one closer to India in terms of titles. India has won seven titles and is the most successful team in the tournament. They had won the last two editions in 2016 and 2018 but crashed out of the finals race this year. Meanwhile, talking about this edition's finalists, both teams will be playing the final for the first time since 2014.
Eight years ago, Sri Lanka had beaten the then-depending champions, Pakistan to claim the title. Since then, both teams didn't play in the final. In the last two editions, India and Bangladesh played the final. This time around, the Bangla Tigers crashed out in the first round of the tournament. On the other hand, India played till the Super Four stage.
