The new edition of the 20-20 World Cup is going to start on 16 October 2022 with the qualifiers. After this round, the Super 12 stage will kick off on 22 October 2022. All teams have already reached Australia for getting prepared for the upcoming event. Even, on 15 October, all captains attended a media interaction in central Melbourne.

Meanwhile, West Indies failed to gain a direct qualification in this year’s tournament. Therefore, they will be in action during the qualifiers. However, all Caribbean players attended a mandatory pre-tournament photoshoot where they came up with the viral “Kala Chasma” trend. Fans loved it as the video went viral all over the internet.

Speaking of the video, West Indies players were seen shaking legs on a famous Bollywood song “Kala Chasma”. For a long time now, videos have been going viral on this song with some special moves from different people. So, ahead of the World Cup, Caribbean players continue the trend.

West Indies will be in action against Scotland on 17 October in Blundstone Arena. They will look to do well in the qualifies in order to get qualified for the Super 12 stage. Before the mega event, West Indies lost a two-match T20I series against the Aussies in Australia. However, they have already played a warm-up match against UAE on 10 October. But, they managed to defeat UAE by 17 runs.

After becoming the captain, Nicholas Pooran said that he is well aware that he has been following the footsteps of some greats of the West Indies like Brian Lara. He said: “I am following the footsteps of several giants of the game who have created an amazing legacy for West Indies cricket." Before the two-match T20I series against Australia, Pooran said: “We understand that we don't have as much experience in the room. But we have been playing cricket together for the entire year so we do understand each other a little better now."
