  1. The final of the Indian T20 League 2022 saw Gujarat beat Rajasthan. However, a funny incident happened involving two individuals from either side grabbed everyone’s attention. Leg-spinner and highest wicket-taker of the season, Yuzvendra Chahal, was accompanied by his wife Dhanashree Verma. They were leaving the venue with their own vehicle but Gujarat’s head coach Ashish Nehra stepped in and asked Chahal to join the team.

Leggie replied “Bus mein nahi jaana mujhe (I don’t want to travel on the bus).”. He reasoned that he doesn’t want to leave his wife behind. “Biwi ko kaha chor du main (How can I leave my wife alone),” he said. In reply, Nehra replied “Biwi bhi aayegi humare saath bus mein (she will also come with us on the bus).”

Fans were puzzled, and felt that the duo was drunk at the time of the incident. Meanwhile, it is unclear whether the duo was drunk or just tired at the time of the same. Notably, they share a working relationship as the 2011 World Cup winner was part of the Bangalore coaching staff in 2019. Recently, he was the head coach of 2022 season debutants and winners, Gujarat.

Talking about Jind-born player’s performance in the cash-rich league, he took 27 wickets in 17 games and became the highest wicket-taker of the season. He achieved the same after taking the wicket of the Gujarat skipper Hardik Pandya in the final. However, he couldn’t help his side win the trophy as the Ahmedabad-based team won the final by seven wickets. On the other hand, the former left-arm pacer was lauded by the netizens after leading the team to their maiden title.

The win was special for the team as they weren’t really the title contenders. However, they went against the odds and showed other teams and experts that underestimating them was a big mistake. They have become the second team after Rajasthan to win the title in their first season. The Pink Brigade won the title under Late Shane Warne in 2008.
