Indian fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar is confident about the youngsters doing well in the upcoming series against Sri Lanka. The senior pacer believes that the experience of playing in the Indian Premier League would undoubtedly benefit the players. Bhuvneshwar Kumar also reckoned that playing for the national team would enhance the confidence of inexperienced players.
The Indian cricket team is currently preparing for three ODIs and as many T20Is against Sri Lanka, starting from July 18. On the other hand, the Indian Test team is preparing for the five-match Test series against England. It will be interesting to see how the players will perform against the Island nation as several prominent names are missing from the squad.

Indian opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan has been appointed captain, whereas fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar is his deputy. The BCCI has also named many youngsters for the 3-match ODI and T20I series. Youngsters like Prithvi Shaw, Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, Devdutt Padikkal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Varun Chakravarthy, and Chetan Sakariya will get an opportunity to test their grit in international cricket.
Meanwhile, the first ODI match of the series was supposed to take place in Colombo on July 13. However, it will instead now take place on July 18. According to sources, 4 Covid-19 positive cases were reported from the Sri Lankan camp over the past few days. Sri Lanka batting coach Grant Flower has also got infected with the highly infectious Delta variant. A couple of staff members from the camp were reportedly tested positive for the virus on July 08 and 09. The Sri Lankan team is going to be using the facilities at R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium (RPS) stadium. On the other end, the Indian cricket team will train at the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC). The teams are also in different hotels.
