Despite defeating Sri Lanka 2-0, Bangladesh skipper Tamim Iqbal feels that they still have not played the perfect game yet. Bangladesh defeated Sri Lanka by 103 runs (DLS method) in the second ODI game on Tuesday. The team has now taken a 2-0 lead in the series. However, Captain Tamim Iqbal wants the side to try and play the perfect game. For Bangladesh, Mushfiqur Rahim scored a century, Mehidy Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman picked up three wickets each. These players ensured that the hosts won the second game as well. During the post-match discussion, Tamim Iqbal mentioned that there are still a few areas that Bangladesh needs to work on in order to become a better team.

Bangladesh batsman Mushfiqur Rahim also stated that the team could still improve despite winning the series. After the match, Rahim stressed more on the importance of the conditions in the final game of the series. He stated that the team needs to prepare well for the next match. Chasing a below part total, Sri Lanka failed to score the runs as their batsmen failed to convert decent starts into big knocks. For Bangladesh, Mushfiqur remained the hero as he scored his eighth ODI century. The batsman formed a crucial 87-run partnership with Mahmudullah Riyad, who scored 41.

Sri Lanka pacer Dushmantha Chameera struck twice in his first over to dismiss Iqbal for 13 and Shakib Al Hasan for naught. He wrapped up Bangladesh's innings in 48.1 overs after dismissing the in-form batsman Mushfiqur. Mushfiqur also scored a match-winning 84 in the previous match. The batsman stood firm with Mahmudullah to attack the bowling unit of the opposition.

Bangladesh, who won the first match by 33 runs, was always on top. Debutant pace bowler Shoriful Islam was victorious in dismissing skipper Kusal Perera for 14 in the sixth over of innings. Opening batsman Danushka Gunathilaka made the highest runs (24) whereas one-down Pathum Nissanka made 20 for Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka was 121-9 in 38 overs when rain halted the game for more than half an hour. This later forced the match officials to give them a revised D/L target - reducing two runs and 10 overs. Isuru Udana smashed Shoriful for two sixes to add 20 runs in the last two overs to reduce Sri Lanka's margin of defeat.
