On 1 December 2022, Mumbai City FC will lock horns with FC Goa in the Mumbai Football Arena. Speaking of the form, Mumbai are the current leader in the table with 18 points from eight matches. At the same time, Goa are sitting in the fifth position with 12 points from seven games. So, an enthralling battle is set to take place at the home ground of Mumbai City FC.

Mumbai have scored the most number of goals (23) so far in eight matches in the ongoing tournament. Another reason behind their success has been the top goalkeeping abilities of Phurba Lachenpa. Now, ahead of the Goa clash, the Mumbai goalkeeper shared his views regarding their performance in this edition of the Indian Super League

“It feels great to be a part of this quad because we had three strong goalkeepers.”  - Phurba Lachenpa, Mumbai City FC

While speaking to the club’s YouTube channel in an interview, Phurba Lachenpa said: “It feels great to be a part of this quad because we had three strong goalkeepers. Bhaskar Roy was one of the best goalkeepers in the I-League last year and (Mohammad) Nawaz because he been performing for last 4-5 Hero Indian Super League seasons.”

“It's a tough competition and a healthy competition that we have and if each one of us is pushing each other to our limits, then it benefits us because we can take all positive and negative things from each other. We have a great (goalkeeping coach) in Rozario. We are learning from each other every day and pushing each other to our limits,” he added.

Mumbai City FC goalkeeper concluded: “We just have to stick to our coach's football. We are enjoying our football right now. That is the main thing. So, we just have to stick to the coach's plan and carry this momentum forward by expressing ourselves on the field. We need to forget our previous performances and try to perform on the pitch. The team that will perform on the given day will win the points.”
