India's squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2022 has been announced on August 8. Significant changes have been made in the team which played in the West Indies. Former skipper Virat Kohli, who was rested for the recently concluded series and Zimbabwe, has been included. On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled owing to a back injury. KL Rahul has returned to the national team as the vice-captain.

He hasn't played a competitive game since the Indian T20 League 2022. Before the South Africa series, he suffered a groin injury. Then, ahead of the West Indies series, he tested positive for COVID 19. Now he has fully recovered and is raring to go. Talking about other players, the likes of Arshdeep Singh, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, and Deepak Hooda have also been retained. These players have been part of the team for the last few months.

On the other hand, players such as Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, and Kuldeep Yadav have been left while others such as Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, and Deepak Chahar have been included as stand byes.

Talking about the fans, some of the fans aren't happy with the exclusion of Sanju Samson. On the other hand, some fans feel that Mohammed Shami could have been part of the squad.
