The duo of Matthew Wade and Aaron Finch provided Australia a decent start. Australia’s opening duo notched a crucial partnership of 41 in 5 overs. After the dismissal of Wade and Finch, Australia’s batting lineup started to collapse. Mitchell Marsh only managed to score 9 runs in total. In the end, Australia scored 141 runs at the end of 20 overs. Hayden Walsh Jr bowled brilliantly against Australia in the 3rd T20I. In just 4 overs, Hayden Walsh Jr scalped 2 wickets for West Indies. He also maintained a superb bowling economy of 4.50 against Australia.
Gayle shines with the bat as West Indies defeat Australia in the 3rd T20I
West Indies needed to chase a total of 142 to win the 3rd T20I match against Australia. The duo of Andre Fletcher and Lendl Simmons failed to provide West Indies an ideal start. The opening duo of West Indies managed to contribute only 19 runs in total. After Fletcher’s dismissal, Chris Gayle came in to bat at the no 3 spot for West Indies. Gayle ran riot with the bat against Australia in the 3rd T20I match. In just 38 deliveries, Gayle amassed an impressive 67 runs in total. Gayle’s sublime knock with the bat featured a total of 4 fours and 7 sixes in total. West Indies skipper Nicholas Pooran also batted brilliantly against Australia, amassing 32 runs in just 27 balls. In the end, West Indies chased the total with 6 wickets in hand and 31 balls left to play. Owing to his brilliant batting performance, Chris Gayle was adjudged Man of the Match.
