West Indies selection committee announced an unchanged 13-member squad for the third T20I against South Africa. All the remaining matches against South Africa are going to be played at the Grenada National Stadium. The five-match series is currently 1-1 after the first two exciting games.
The West Indies team won the opening game by eight wickets on Saturday. On the other end, South Africa bounced back to win the second game by 16 runs on Sunday. The ongoing series forms part of the WI's international home season. They have to play a total of 15 T20Is. The side continues preparations to defend its title at the ICC T20 World Cup that is scheduled to take place this year.
There will be opportunities for other players in the future: Rojer Harper
West Indies chief selector Roger Harper stated that the Selection Committee is happy to retain the same squad for the third CG Insurance T20I. With the series in the balance, the management would like to give this team another chance to display how well they can perform together. Considering there are more T20Is ahead, there will be opportunities for other players going forward.
South Africa skipper Temba Bavuma recorded his first victory at the helm of the side. With the bowling unit stepping up, the South African team will look to create some momentum in the remaining matches. Overall, considering how well South Africa performed in the previous game, this contest is too close to call. But despite their poor batting display in the second game, West Indies will still enter the third T20I as favorites. A little more caution and intelligent decision-making while batting will ensure they seize the advantage back in the ongoing series.
