New Zealand and Pakistan faced each other after a drawn Test series at Karachi in the ODIs which were played here. In the first ODI, Pakistan won the toss and chose to bowl. New Zealand batted first but could not get going and the Kiwis ended on just 255-9.

Among them, Kane Williamson was also one who did not have the best of outings with the bat as he made 26 off 39 balls with just three fours and then was bowled by an absolute ripper by Usama Mir to get the New Zealand skipper out.  It was the leg-break ball that drifted in and the ball pitched at a perfect length on leg stump.

illiamson was only half forward on his defensive shot , giving ample room to turn which it did. The ball opened him up, beat the outside edge, and then it knocked over the off-bail. It was a superb dream delivery from Mir to get the right-handed batter out.

Here is the video:

For New Zealand, only Tom Latham and Michael Bracewell got into the 40s with 42 off52 balls with three fours and 43 off 42 balls with four fours and one six. For Pakistan, Naseem Shah was the star with the ball as he picked up 5-57 in his ten overs with the wickets of Devon Conway, Glenn Phillips, Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner and Henry Shipley.

Usama Mir picked up good figures on debut with 2-42 in his 10 overs. In reply, Pakistan completed the target in 48.1 overs. Fakhar Zaman made a solid 56 off 74 balls with seven fours. Babar Azam made a fluent 66 off 82 balls with five fours and one six. Mohammad Rizwan played a great knock of 77 off 86 balls with six fours and one six.

The finishing touches were provided by Agha Salman and Harris Sohail, who scored 13 off 10 balls with one six and 32 off 23 balls with two fours and two sixes. Pakistan won the first ODI by six wickets and made 258-4. Twitter was abuzz, let us take a look at the reactions here:
