The Indian T20 League is a tournament that makes or break careers. A good performance in the tournament helps the player get into the limelight, while a poor season or two can dent their careers as well. Over the years, several Indian T20 League players have either gone to represent their country or have faded away in no time. Haryana-based Mohit Sharma is one of them.

Mohit Sharma, along with Barinder Sran and Lukman Meriwala, has joined the Gujarat team as their net bowler. The pacer was once a purple cap winner for the Chennai team in his glory days. He has gone downhill gradually over the years.

The Haryana-born speedster was once the mainstay of Chennai's pace-bowling attack. He was the go-to bowler for MS Dhoni. In 2014, he earned the Purple Cap for them. However, Sharma's career suffered as Chennai was temporarily suspended from the league. Following that, he played for Punjab but was unable to replicate his previous success. Mohit came back to Chennai in 2018 after a stint with Punjab but did not receive enough opportunities to establish himself. He only appeared in one match for Chennai, recording figures of 1/27. In 2020, he shifted to Delhi, where he only played one match and finished with figures of 1/45.

He went unsold in the ITL 2022 mega auction and was later roped in as net bowler for the upcoming season. After his ITL success in 2014, he went on to play for India as well but wasn't able to cement his place. Twitter was disappointed to see the downfall of Mohit Sharma.
