In the recently concluded 20-20 World Cup, India and the Kiwis both lost their respective semi-finals. So, after such a humiliating exit from the tournament, both teams were looking to have a fresh start.

All big-name players took a rest from this tour. Therefore, Hardik Pandya got the opportunity to lead the team. But, the first match of the series got abandoned due to heavy rain. After the match, Kane Williamson and Pandya got involved in a funny interaction and the video went viral.

Here is the shared video:

“Hardik, what do you reckon?” - Kane Williamson to Hardik Pandya

After the first game of the series got abandoned, both captains joined the presenter. The presenter asked Hardik if the second match could still potentially stand as a battle for the third spot in the World Cup. In reply to that, Hardik Pandya said that the World Cup is already done and they are looking forward to this T20I series.

He said: “The World Cup is done, I’ve left it behind. The disappointment will be there, but we can’t go back and change things. We’re now looking forward to this series." Then, the presenter asked the same question to the Kiwi skipper.

In reply, Kane Williamson said: “I don't believe so. It wouldn't have been a very nice game to play I thought so. Hardik, what do you reckon? We’ll start fresh, this is a new series both sides are looking forward to. We both wanted to get to the final, but we’ve got a week to rest and get ourselves ready for this.” However, both players got involved in laughter after such an interaction. Before this match, a reporter asked him if Williamson has any future in that league after being released by the Hyderabad franchise. In response to that, Pandya said: "Don't know, too far ahead to think about it now. For him, because he is a friend, yes. Rest it is okay. Indian T20 League is Indian T20 League, right now I am playing for India."
