The young batting Indian batting prospect from MP’s Bhopal, Soumya Tiwari couldn’t resist expressing her ecstatic emotions when the Indian women’s U19 team got congratulated by the former Indian skipper batting superstar Virat Kohli. The 34-year-old took to his official Twitter handle to congratulate the young girls on clinching the title of the inaugural edition of the women’s U19 T20 World Cup.

The girls in blue outplayed the England women’s U19 in the title clash of the tournament lifting the title on Sunday, the 29th of January.  Soumya specifically played a brilliant role in India’s victory as he played an unbeaten knock of 24 runs and also stitched a 46-run partnership for the third wicket with Gongadi Trisha which eventually guided India to a historic win.

Coming back to the Instagram story posted by Soumya, the 17-year-old uploaded a screengrab of Virat Kohli’s tweet congratulatory tweet for the Women’s U19 team.

“Is this real? Like seriously, what else u can ask for after the World Cup,” wrote Soumya in her Instagram story followed by a few emotional emojis.

Notably, this World Cup win is a remarkable moment in the history of Indian women’s cricket as the Women’s T20 League is also about to commence later this year. Taking pride in the historic achievement by Shafali Verma & co., the Indian Cricket Board secretary Jay Shah also announced a whopping prize money of INR 5 crores to the entire team and support staff.

Now, the U19 World Champion team will head to the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad to be a part of the grand celebration. Notably, NMS in Ahmedabad will also host the third and last of the three-match men’s ODI series between India and New Zealand on Wednesday, the 1st of February.
