Match 25 of The Hundred 2023 saw the Trent Rockets lock horns against the Birmingham Phoenix at Trent Bridge, Nottingham on Saturday, August 19. The Pheonix won the toss and invited the Rockets out to bat first. They put in a great shift with the willow but all the attention went to the top-order batter Tom Kohler-Cadmore, who was seen wearing a ‘Q-Collar’. Notably, the Q-Collar is the latest innovative device in sports technology that helps with concussions.

Taking note of the latest advancements in technology ensuring the safety of cricketers, fans responded positively. They were quick to share the photos of Kohler-Cadmore on Twitter, which went viral instantly. The device is believed to absorb shocks generated when the balls hit the neck or the helmet. It also comes to play during heavy collisions. As such, it minimises the weary movement of the neck and stabilises the effect of a sudden impact, leading to reduced chances of damage to the brain and concussions.

Trent Rockets emerged victorious by 46 runs

Coming to the game, the Rockets were forced to bat first and they posted a massive 162 runs in their quota of 100 deliveries. Sam Hain with 30 runs, Alex Hales with 34, and Daniel Sams with 20 remained the key contributors. For the Pheonix, Adam Milne remained the pick of the bowlers with 2/24 in his 20 balls. At the same time, Chris Woakes, Kane Richardson, Benny Howell, and Moeen Ali returned with one wicket each.

In reply, the Pheonix could not get going and ended up losing the game by a considerable margin of 46 runs.
