U19 World Cup 2022 winning skipper Yash Dhull has achieved a rare feat on his Ranji Trophy debut. Dhull hit two hundred in the game against Tamil Nadu. On the first day of the game, he scored 113 runs with 18 fours before being trapped lbw by M Mohammed. In the second innings on February 20, the right-hander scored as many runs but remained unbeaten and hit 14 fours and a solitary six.
With this, he entered the elite club of players who have hit two hundred on Ranji debuts. He became the third player after Nari Contractor and Virag Awate. Contractor played for Gujarat and Awate played for Maharashtra. Contractor was the first player to achieve the feat.

Delhi's Yash Dhull has added another feather to his cap! He has now become the only third batsman to make a century in each innings (113 & 100*) on #RanjiTrophy debut after Nari Contractor (152 & 102*) for Gujarat in 1952/53 & Virag Awate (126 & 112) for Maharashtra in 2012/13.

Apart from him, Lalit Yadav, who was bought by Delhi in the Indian T20 League auction last week, also scored a hundred in the first innings. He amassed 177 with 17 fours and 10 sixes. The team went on to score 452 all-out in the first innings. From Tamil Nadu camp, Shahrukh Khan, who was bought by Punjab, scored an explosive 194 runs off 148 balls with 20 fours and 10 sixes. Narayan Jagadeesan, who was bought by Chennai, scored a fifty.
The team went to score 494 runs and took a vital lead of 42 runs. In reply, Delhi openers, Yash Dhull and Dhruv Shorey (107*) stitched an unbeaten partnership of 228 runs before the game ended in a draw. Tamil Nadu, on the virtue of first-innings lead, has got three points while Delhi had to settle for only one.
Delhi will play next against Jharkhand in Cuttack from February 24 while Tamil Nadu will play next against Chhattisgarh in Guwahati from the same day. Chhattisgarh have won their first game while Jharkhand lost their opening game. Meanwhile, Dhull was purchased by Delhi for INR 50 lakh in the Indian T20 League auction.
