The West Indies team made a good comeback on Thursday in the fourth T20I of the five-match series against South Africa. It leveled the series at 2-2. Kieron Pollard made 51 runs off 25 balls in the death overs that helped West Indies put 161/6 on board in 20 overs. Lendl Simmons also contributed 47 runs for the West Indies.
South Africa struggled to chase the runs freely as the pitch considerably slowed down during their innings. Quinton De Kock was the only player to cross the 50 run mark. His 60 run knock tried to keep South Africa on the winning side but he was dismissed in the 18th over. Aiden Markram was then the second-highest scorer for Africa with 20 runs. Thereby, South Africa failed to win the fourth match by 21 runs. The African team could secure just 1406/9 in 20 overs. West Indies bowler Dwayne Bravo was the player of the match for his spell of 4/19.
Quinton De Kock has been in good form throughout the tour of the West Indies. He has made 195 runs in four matches and is the leading run-scorer in the ongoing series. Moreover, number 1 ranked T20I bowlers Tabraiz Shamsi and George Linde have also performed well in the bowling department for South Africa.
If South Africa managed to win the fifth match then it would mark their first T20Is win against West Indies in 11 years. It would motivate the African team to defeat the winner of the T20I world cup in their backyard. It would also boost the confidence of the Temba Bavuma-led team ahead of the upcoming T20 World Cup.

South Africa last registered their T20I series victory against West Indies in Antigua at the Sir Vivian Richards stadium. It was a two-match T20I series during the 2010 tour of the West Indies.
The visiting South African team had won the first match of the series. They were looking forward to securing a win in the second game to win the series. But the West Indies were trying to avoid a clean sweep and prepared to win the second match.
West Indian captain Chris Gayle had won the toss and invited the African team to bat first on a slow pitch. Bowlers of the West Indies team bowled wonderfully and managed to control the scoring rate of South Africa. None of the top-order South African batsmen could cross the 20 run mark. But David Miller (33) and Johan Botha (23) put on a 56 run partnership for the sixth wicket. It helped Africa post 120 runs on board at the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs.
In response, South African bowlers performed exceptionally well to restrict the West Indies team to 119/7 in 20 overs. The hosts lost the match by just 1 run. Johan Botha won the player of the match for his 3/22 spell with the ball and his 23 run stint with the bat as well.
