'When we have a great game, a great total, we expect...' - Kumar Sangakkara comes up with a speech for Rajasthan Royals' players after defeat against Mumbai Indians

Rajasthan Royals faced the fourth defeat in their ninth match in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2023. They locked horns with Mumbai Indians in the 42^nd clash of the tournament at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Rajasthan won the toss and batted first at the batting-supportive surface of the Wankhede.

Batting first, they posted a big total of 212 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs. But the hosts Mumbai Indians chased it down in 19.3 overs for the loss of four wickets to win the first-ever match by chasing a 200+ total match at the Wankhede Stadium.

Subsequently, the head coach of Rajasthan Royals, Kumar Sangakkara came up with a motivational speech for the players after this loss against the five-time champions.

"I need you guys to appreciate what a game of cricket this was. It was great. I know we feel down, when we have a great game, a great total, we expect to win. It's the same thing, we've done it to other sides. Alright? So no getting down. We got a lot of cricket to play,  keep repeating the good things.

Speaking of the action of the match, Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed a blistering knock of 124 runs off just 62 balls with 16 boundaries and eight sixes to his name. He was the only batter around whom the entire innings of Rajasthan Royals revolved in the first part of the game. On the back of his swashbuckling century, RR went on to put in a total of 212 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the first 20 overs of the game.

Later on, while chasing the target, Mumbai Indians crossed the line in 19.3 overs after scoring 214 runs for the loss of four wickets and won the match by six wickets. Thanks to the brilliant and quick finish by Tim David who smashed 45 runs off just 14 balls with two boundaries and five sixes with the wood. Other than him, Suryakumar Yadav and Cameron Green also played the crucial knocks of 44 and 55 runs respectively.
