FC Barcelona- Bayern Munich Champions League games have a different atmosphere around them. The German club has been dominating the Spanish one for quite some time now, with Barcelona- Bayern 2-8 score line from August 2020 defining their modern-day rivalry.

14th August brought a chance for the Catalan club to take their revenge on Bayern when they met in the Group stage of Champions League 2021/22. Having taken their star striker in Robert Lewandowski, and made other exciting signings this year, Barcelona would have been very confident going into the tie.

However all hopes of revenge came crashing down when Lucas Hernandez broke the deadlock in the 50th minute. Four minutes later Leroy Sane doubled the lead and put forth an unsurmountable challenge.

Barcelona could not break Bayern's defence in 90 minutes and came out defeated again. Naturally, Bayern fans enjoyed getting one over their opponents and sang throughout the game to motivate their players. One moment from the game that is getting increasingly viral is Bayern fans singing, “Who the f**k is Barcelona, hey hey.”

The video shows the Bayern fans behind the home team’s goalpost jumping together and waving flags. The video was recorded just after the home team scored their second goal. As the camera pans to the big screen inside the stadium, it shows a score of 2-0 and a time of 56 minutes.

Barcelona head coach Xavi could be seen looking tensed as his team got battered at the Allianz Arena. The Spanish team head back to Camp Nou with three points in Group C after two games. Bayern FC meanwhile sits comfortably at the top with six points in two matches.

Barcelona would have another shot at revenge when Bayern Munich travel to the Camp Nou in the return leg of the Group Stage on 26th October. Elsewhere Napoli, Club Brugge, Sporting CP, Milan, Real Madrid, Manchester City and PSG top their respective groups in the Champions League.
