Australia’s opening batsman Will Pucovski is likely to miss the upcoming fourth and final Test against India in Brisbane. The batsman has suffered a shoulder injury during the Sydney Test, and his participation in the final Test remains doubtful. Pucovski will continue his rehabilitation over the next two days before the final call is taken by team management.
In his debut match, Will Pucovski scored 64 and 8 respectively. He had opened the innings with David Warner in the Sydney Test and scored a half-century in his first innings. The world will equally remember the tour for the number of injuries and the first series which got to see youngsters like Will Pucovski, Shubman Gill, Navdeep Saini, Cameron Green and Mohammad Siraj.

His injury took place in the 86th over of India’s innings on the fifth day. Pucovski dived to save a shot that Cheteshwar Pujara had played. He further remained on the ground holding his right shoulder and seemed to be in severe pain. The batsman had to go for further scans.
The youngster had earlier missed the first two Tests after suffering a concussion in a practice match. However, the management decided to go with Joe Burns, but he was axed from the team after his poor performance in the first match. Apart from the young batsman, David Warner is also likely to miss the final Test. The 34-year-old did not look so comfortable while batting in Sydney. If both the batsman fails to recover then, Burns might get one more chance.
If Pucovski fails to recover the this could also mean Australia will require a fifth opening batsman in the four-match series. As Marcus Harris already in the Test squad, he could come in as a replacement of the young batsman. The other possible option could be the return of Matthew Wade to the top. This will allow Travis Head to make a comeback in Brisbane.
India and Australia will face each other in the fourth and final Test at the Gabba, Brisbane. The match is going to begin on December 15. Team Australia had earlier won the first Test, while the men in blue came back strongly in the second Test. The third match at Sydney result in a draw, and with this, the series stands level at 1-1.
