The ardent Tennis fans and the sporting fraternity across the world are all set to witness an iconic Wimbledon 2023 final between World number one and number two Tennis stars. The Spanish sensation and top seed Carlos Alcaraz will be locking horns with the World number two and the current Australian Open and French Open Champion Novak Djokovic in the Men’s singles final of Wimbledon 2023.

Alcaraz and Djokovic played their respective semi-finals on Friday at the Centre Court. Notably, it is only the fifth time that the Spanish star is appearing in any grass-court tournament. As for the semi-finals, Alcaraz defeated Daniil Medvedev by a margin of 6-3, 6-3, and 6-3 in his penultimate clash of Wimbledon 2023.

As for Novak Djokovic, he outplayed Jannik Sinner with a scoreline of 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (7/4) to make it to his ninth final at the All-England Club. This is his record 35th Grand Slam final appearance, the highest-ever played by any tennis star, man or woman.

There's no time to be afraid, no time to be tired - Carlos Alcaraz on match with Novak Djokovic

Meanwhile, the young Spaniard accepted the pressure of facing the modern-day tennis legend in the highly anticipated final of the Wimbledon 2023. “I believe I can beat Djokovic; everyone knows the legend he is. I will fight. I will believe in myself. There's no time to be afraid, no time to be tired,” said Alcaraz ahead of the final clash against the Serb.

Apart from this, Djokovic also spoke about hindrance in the match by a code violation handed to him by umpire Richard Haigh for taking too much time between the points. "The hindrance early on in the match could have changed the course of the match. I felt nervous after that call, but I managed to re-group," said the 36-year-old.

"It's probably the first time it's happened to me, I don't normally have extended grunts. Maybe it was an echo in the roof. It was a call that I have to respect,” he added.
