Ravi Shastri’s tenure as head coach would end in November after the T20 World Cup. There has been lots of speculation about whether BCCI would continue with Ravi Shastri or appoint someone else.
The BCCI now has two clear paths that they have to choose. The first option is that they can start advertising for the position and hire a new coach. On the other hand, BCCI can renew Ravi Shastri’s contract to continue till 2023. Under Shastri’s guidance, the Indian team has achieved great success in all formats. Moreover, two crucial ICC events would take place in 2022 and 2023 and it would be good to have Shastri on board.
However, one of the main factors to consider is Sourav Ganguly, the BCCI president who is not fond of Ravi Shastri. But the team captain Virat Kohli is extremely fond of Shastri. So for Shastri to continue as the head coach, India either needs to win the WTC final or reclaim T20 World Cup.
There are also rumors of Ravi Shastri being unwilling to continue as the head coach but it is most likely false. Shastri has no such thought in mind and would like to continue as the head coach of the Indian team.
Moreover, under his guidance and Kohli’s captaincy, India has performed brilliantly in Tests cricket. The Indian has also displayed a lot of potential in the short format of the game as well. If we choose to ignore the ODI, then India has a neat record in T20 cricket in SENA countries.
Ravi Shastri would most probably remain the head coach till 2023

Shastri’s effectiveness could be proven by the fact that this Indian team is being talked about in a positive light. Experts have faith in this team about beating England in their nation. Along with it, India’s performance in Australia where it created history by beating Australia with a bunch of increased Shastri’s popularity. So, BCCI is least likely to break the current balance before India succeeded in at least two more ICC tournaments.
