Manchester United has improved by heaps and bounds since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, who joined Saudi Arabian Club Al-Nassr in a record deal. The Reds' confidence was further boosted when they came back from one goal behind to beat their Europa League Round of 32 rivals, FC Barcelona. United manager Erik ten Hag insisted that they could beat any team with the belief system that runs within the club.

Manchester United remain alive in four competitions following their Round of 32 win in the Europa League. Beating the Spanish league leaders, who are 8 points clear at the summit of La Liga, has filled the manager with confidence. His United side has been performing at an unseen intensity since Sir Alex Ferguson's days at the club.

'You need results to get strong belief' – Erik ten Hag

"You need a strategy to build, but also you need results to get that strong belief," Ten Hag told reporters in the post-match conference. "This is another step because when you can beat Barcelona -- one of the best teams in this moment in Europe -- your belief can be really strong because then I think you are able to beat anyone. It was a magnificent night. I think it is brilliant when you can beat Barcelona, eight points ahead of Real Madrid in La Liga, and we have seen this week Real Madrid playing (against Liverpool). We did a magnificent performance."

It is not the first time Manchester United has come from behind after conceding a lead against a big club. Earlier in the season's Manchester Derby at Old Trafford, ten Hag's super team came back from one goal down to win 2-1. The manager has been all praises for his players.

"We have great personalities in this team, starting with David (De Gea), Rapha (Varane), Licha (Martinez), Casemiro, Bruno (Fernandes), such winning types," he said. "Everyone has such a strong belief in this team and the fight in this team," Ten Hag said. "You can see it with the subs; they are coming on and bringing energy and quality and a different dynamic in games. I think all the subs, not only in this game but in many games before, did brilliantly," he added.
