Indian coach Ravi Shastri’s tenure with team India will end in November. Thus, the BCCI has been putting their thinking hats on for his replacement. It was earlier reported that the board is looking for an Indian to take up the responsibility and if recent reports are to be believed, former India skipper and NCA head coach Rahul Dravid will take over the role.

The BCCI is yet to confirm the development but as soon as the news came out, the cricketing fraternity reacted to it in numbers. The former Ashes-winning England skipper Michael Vaughan took to his official Twitter account to express his views on Dravid’s appointment. “If it’s true Rahul Dravid is to be the next Indian coach I think the rest of the world better beware … !,” Vaughan’s Tweet read.

Dravid’s contribution in grooming the budding cricketers is known to all. He has been one of the most celebrated players in the country. The former India cricketer Wasim Jaffer too came forward to react to this news in his own distinct style. He credited India and CSK bowler Shardul Thakur for Dravid’s possible appointment for the post.

“Till yesterday news reports were saying Rahul Dravid was going to stay at the NCA. Yet early morning news broke of him becoming India coach. So what happened around midnight? My best guess is Lord Shardul blew candles on his birthday cake wishing to be coached by Rahul bhai ,” Jaffer Tweeted.
