The senior Indian opener KL Rahul is not in action in international cricket since March 2023 due to an injury. Meanwhile, he also got married to the star Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty. His comeback in the national side of India is still awaited as Team India is set to take part in a couple of big assignments.
But the media reports have learned that the Karnataka opener is unlikely to make any comeback in the Indian team by the Asia Cup 2023.
“KL Rahul has checked in to the NCA and is undergoing rehabilitation. Having undergone thigh surgery in May, his return date is still unknown. It is unlikely he will be ready for the Asia Cup. As for Shreyas Iyer, who also had back surgery, the status is still not fully known,” reads the report in Cricbuzz.
Subsequently, Indian cricket fans came up with a lot of reactions on the social media platform Twitter. Some of the fans also took a dig at KL Rahul by recalling his poor performances in the past.
Here’s how fans reacted:

India should look beyond him and the players like Iyer ,bumrah .
Because depending on this type of players is good but they get injured real soon and long term vision doesn't give credibility to built with such player's.
Disadvantage for others team

Amidst all this, the national side of Team India is all set to tour West Indies for two Tests, three ODIs, and five T20Is against the Caribbean side. The Indian Cricket Board has also announced the squad for Tests and ODIs against West Indies. Regular skipper Rohit Sharma will lead the side having some young uncapped cricketers in the team.
Recently, Team India, under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, was in action in the World Test Championship 2023 final against Australia. Indians faced a crushing defeat in the WTC 2023 final by a big margin of 209 runs.
Coming back to KL Rahul, there are also speculations in the Indian cricketing corridors that the 31-year-old might make it to the Indian squad by the ODI World Cup 2023.
