SRH wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha has tested positive COVID-19 results for the second time. The Bengal batsman has completed almost two weeks of isolation. Saha has also recovered from body ache, fever, and cough, which he experienced earlier. As the results are not in his favor, the batsman will have to continue his isolation in Delhi. However, the doctors are likely to release him from his quarantine after turning negative.
The 14th season of the Indian Premier League has to be stopped midway, considering the rise in COVID-19 cases. Despite being in the bio bubble, cases started popping up from almost every IPL franchise. Wriddhiman Saha was one of the cricketers who returned positive two weeks back. After SRH wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha and Delhi Capitals' (DC) Amit Mishra also tested positive for Covid-19, it was decided that the competition would be postponed.
Saha has been included in the squad for the forthcoming WTC final
Wriddhiman Saha just played two games in the first half of the IPL 2021. According to SRH coach VVS Laxman, he was all set to play the match against Rajasthan. However, it was reported that the Bengal player wasn't in good health that day and had to sit out on the bench. Just before the IPL was suspended, Saha tested positive for COVID-19 and was isolated immediately from the rest of the SRH team members.
The 36-year-old batsman also opened up on how he identified his initial symptoms of the virus. The Bengal batsman stated that he was terrified and everyone in his family was also worried. However, Saha concluded that he has recovered well and is doing completely fine now. He would only be able to tell about his fatigue once he gets back to the training sessions.
Talking about Wriddhiman Saha's further assignments, he has been included in the Indian squad for the forthcoming World Test Championship final and also the five-match series against England. However, BCCI has reckoned that his inclusion in the team is entirely based on his fitness as he is still recovering from COVID-19. It will be a thing to see when the wicketkeeper-batsman would be fully recovered. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has issued a strict warning to its players traveling to England over Covid-19 precautions. If in case any player tests positive for the virus, he will be ruled out of the England tour.
