There are many incredible talents going around: Umesh Yadav

Umesh Yadav had sustained a calf injury during the Boxing Day Test against Australia. After that, he was ruled out of the series subsequently. Later, Umesh Yadav regained match-fitness and got back in the India Test team for the last 2 Tests against England but did not play a single game. In a stop-start career, Umesh Yadav has featured in 48 Test matches to date. However, he is still not a sure starter in the playing XI for the WTC final. With young bowlers like Mohammed Siraj making their mark on the international stage, the competition for Umesh has got tough.

Umesh Yadav has so far managed to take 148 wickets from 48 Test matches. He also spoke about the role of captain Virat Kohli and head coach Ravi Shastri. Yadav stated that the management ensures that every player in the team has the desired confidence to take the game to the next level. Like many other players, Umesh Yadav also feels the current fast bowlers in the team are the best India has ever had in their history. On being questioned whether the current Indian fast bowling unit is the best globally, Umesh Yadav was modest and said there are many incredible talents going around. Over the years, India's pace attack has done wonders wherever they've played.

The World Test Championship is going to commence in less than one month from now. Virat Kohli-led team India will play against New Zealand in a bid to avenge their World Cup semi-final loss. Both the teams will battle it out to win the first-ever World Test Championship title. Umesh Yadav was also part of the Delhi Capitals team for IPL 2021 but didn't play a single game.
