In what seems to be a major blow for five-time Indian T20 League Champions, Mumbai, the star pacer Jhye Richardson might miss the entire season of the tournament owing to the hamstring injury that he sustained during the Big Bash League 2022-23. Earlier, the senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out of the 2023 edition of the Indian T20 League.

Bumrah sustained a stress fracture in his back before the Asia Cup 2022 and now the Mumbai camp is likely to miss the services of Aussie pacer Jhye Richardson.

A report in ESPNcricinfo states that “Richardson has had a rotten run with soft-tissue injuries over the past two seasons independent of the major shoulder injury he suffered in 2019. He took a maiden Test five-wicket haul against England in Adelaide in December 2021, his first Test since injuring his right shoulder, but a nagging heel injury ruled him out of the next Test and he has not played Test cricket since.”

Subsequently, the Mumbai management has called up Nathan Ellis as the replacement for Richardson in the upcoming edition of the Indian T20 League. The cricket fans are also reacting with some interesting reactions to the news of this big blow for Mumbai. They took to Twitter and also felt that Mumbai’s journey might face trouble in this year’s edition.
