Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans locked horns in the 18th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2023 at the PCA IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali on Thursday, the 13th of April. The visitors’ skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and asked Punjab Kings to bat first at the batting-supportive turd of PCA IS Bindra Stadium.
Although the hosts struggled in the first innings and could manage to post a total of only 153 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs. While chasing the target, Gujarat scored 154 runs for the loss of four wickets in 19.5 overs and won the match by six wickets to register their third win in the tournament after playing four matches.

Talking about the entire action of the match, The Punjab Kings were in trouble as they lost two wickets at the score of only 28 runs in 3.2 overs. It was only the number three batter Matthew Short who crossed the individual mark of 30+ runs by scoring 36 runs off 26 balls with six boundaries and a six to his name. Other than him, the other middle-order batters contributed with a few 20+ run individual knocks. With this, PBKS somehow managed to reach a total of 153 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
The senior pacer Mohit Sharma scalped two wickets for Gujarat Titans in the first innings alongside one wicket each claimed by all other bowlers who bowled.
While chasing the target, the defending champions comfortably crossed the line in overs by scoring 154 runs for the loss of four wickets and won the match by six wickets. The star opener Shubman Gill played an amazing knock of 67 runs off 49 balls with boundaries and a six to his name.
Other than him, the senior opener Wriddhiman Saha also contributed with 30 runs off 19 balls with five boundaries on his credit.
Mohit Sharma won the ‘Player of the Match award for his match-defining performance in favour of Gujarat Titans.
