Star KKR all-rounder Shardul Thakur stunned everyone with his sensational performance in his team’s second match in the tournament against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Apart from his excellent batting, Shardul has attracted the headlines of social media for news off the field. Recently, star Indian leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal’s wife posted an Instagram story including a picture with Shardul Thakur.

Talking about cricket, Shardul Thakur smashed a swashbuckling knock of 68 runs off just 29 balls with nine boundaries and three sixes to his name. Other than him, opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz also played a knock of 57 runs off 44 balls with six boundaries and three sixes on his credit followed by a 46-run knock off 33 balls with two boundaries and three sixes with the wood.

On the back of these knocks, KKR posted a big total of 204 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

While defending the target, the spin trio of Sunil Narine, Varun Chakravarthy, and Suyash Sharma scalped a total of nine wickets out of their 10 wickets. Narine and Suyash scalped three wickets each alongside four wickets scalped by Varun Chakravarthy.

Eventually, KKR won the match by a massive margin of 81 runs to register their first win in the 16^th edition of the Indian Premier League 2023.

Now, Kolkata Knight Riders will face Gujarat Titans in their third match of the tournament on Sunday, the 9^th of April at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
