Ye sahi nashe hai bhai' - Fans react as Shahid Afridi asks Pakistan to participate in ODI World Cup 2023 in India and win it

With less than a hundred days left in the 2023 ODI World Cup, the talks around the Pakistan cricket team touring India for the marquee tournament have still not been confirmed with Pakistan having divided opinions on it. Some of the Pakistan Board members say that they will not travel to India if India does not come to India, while the other half say that the team will travel to India for the World Cup 2023.

Earlier this month, the sports minister of Pakistan Ehsaan Mazari stated to a news channel that if India demands to play their Asia Cup games at a neutral venue, then the Pakistan Cricket team would also demand the same for the World Cup games in India.

It was a high-pressure moment in our careers: Shahid Afridi

Now joining this conversation, the former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi however, has no doubt and also believes that Babar Azam and Co will be travelling to India as well as also play the game in Ahmedabad, which is scheduled for October 15. The former Pakistan skipper also went on to reveal that during a game in Bangalore, where Pakistan won the game, the team was departing to the hotel when some stones were pelted on the team bus.

“It was a high-pressure moment in our careers (tours of India). When we hit boundaries, there was no one to cheer. When we won the Bangalore Test and were departing for the hotel, stones were pelted on the team bus. The pressure is there, of course, but then it’s only fun when there’s pressure. People are saying that Pakistan should not go to India. I am totally against it, I think we should go there and win the match,” Afridi said as reported by Indian Express.

India and Pakistan are scheduled to play against each other in the ODI World Cup 2023 on October 15 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The forthcoming ODI World Cup match between India and Pakistan would be their seventh encounter overall. Since 1992, the men in blue have won every single game.

Here is how Twitter responded to his claim from Afridi;
