With the ODI World Cup 2023 just around the corner, the craze for the cricketing marquee event has certainly reached top-notch heights as the event is set to start in the month of October. Closely to the mega event, Indian cricketing great Sachin Tendulkar has been honored with the 'Golden Ticket for India Icons' in the World Cup program by the Indian Cricket Board.

The board secretary Jay Shah and Sachin Tendulkar were photographed together with the golden ticket, garnering widespread attention on social media. It was always on the cards as the legendary Indian batter has served Indian cricket for 24 long years and was also part of the 2011 World Cup-winning team.

After receiving this special treatment from the board, the legendary batter took to Twitter and shared a heartwarming post thanking the boards as well as the Apex Cricket Council. Tendulkar wrote on his Twitter account, “From serving in the 1987 World Cup as a ball boy to competing in six World Cups from 1992 to 2011, and now receiving this golden ticket in 2023 – it has indeed been a journey woven from dreams and the excitement within me remains undiminished.”

Let us look at how Twitter has reacted to this gesture from ICB;

Amitabh Bachchan was also presented with a Golden Ticket

The 2011 World Cup winner isn't the sole recipient of the coveted "Golden Ticket" for the 2023 World Cup. Iconic actor Amitabh Bachchan was also recently bestowed with this privilege by Jay Shah. This program grants VIP access to marquee event matches for these distinguished figures. It's highly likely that more Indian icons will receive the Golden Ticket before the World Cup kicks off. Notably, the tournament is set to commence on October 5th in Ahmedabad with a match between England and New Zealand.

The Indian team will initiate their campaign by facing Australia on October 8th at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Following this encounter, India is scheduled to compete against Afghanistan at Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium on October 11th.
