Team India are currently in New Zealand for the three-match T20I series. After the disappointing loss at the semi-final of the 20-20 World Cup against England, team India were looking for a fresh start in this series. Big-name players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli took a rest from this tour. 

So, Hardik Pandya got the leadership duty in this series. On 18 November 2022, the first match of the series got abandoned due to heavy rain. Then, on 20 November, both teams locked horns with each other in Mount Maunganui. Speaking of the match, Kane Williamson won the toss and asked team India to bat first.

Suryakumar Yadav scored 111* runs off 51 balls against New Zealand

India batted first and scored 191 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. Rishabh Pant and Ishan Kishan came out to open the innings for the Men in Blue. But, Pant failed again as she scored just six runs off 13 balls, including one four. Ishan Kishan scored 36 runs off 31 balls, including five fours and one six. Shreyas Iyer also had a disappointing comeback as he got out on 13 runs off nine balls, including one six and one four. He got involved in a hit-wickets dismissal while facing Lockie Ferguson. 

But, Suryakumar Yadav proved again why he is the current number one ranked batter in this shortest format of the game. He smashed his second T20I ton off just 49 balls. In the end, he remained not out on 111* runs off 51 balls, including 11 fours and seven fours. He batted at a staggering strike rate of 217.64. In the recently concluded 20-20 World Cup, Suryakumar Yadav was the star of the show with the bat. In the World Cup, he scored 239 runs in six matches, at an average of 59.75. He scored three fifties in that tournament. Fans went crazy after seeing such a mind-blowing hundred from this star Indian batter.
