Team Pakistan are having a tough time in the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. In three matches so far, they have lost two games against India and Zimbabwe respectively. However, their openers have been experiencing a poor run of form with the bat. Over the last two years, both Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam have been the main pillars.

But, in the ongoing tournament, both have failed to score in a consistent manner. So, former cricketers and fans have slammed those batters for such performances. But, former Pakistani skipper Misbah-ul-Haq came out and shared his support with them. The video went viral as fans also found the same lovable.

Speaking of the video, Misbah-ul-Haq was seen sitting with other former cricketers like Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, and Shoaib Malik. There, the former Pakistani skipper defended both the Pakistani openers, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. He said that this is absolutely hurting to see both these players getting criticized only.

He also added that Babar and Rizwan have been the main players who have won so many matches for Pakistan in the last few years. So, based on the last two innings, we should not criticize them. Misbah also said that it seemed like it is only their responsibility to score. No other batters from the team are seemed willing to take responsibility. However, hearing such comments from Misbah-ul -Haq, both these batters must be happy going into the next matches of the World Cup.

Speaking about their recent performance, Babar Azam has scored eight runs so far in three matches. Meanwhile, Mohammad Rizwan has scored 67 runs in three matches. So, Pakistan’s middle-order batters have felt the heat when it came to chasing down a target against Zimbabwe. However, Pakistan managed to win their game against the Netherlands in Perth on 30 October 2022.
