Sunil Gavaskar, the former team India cricketer, revealed that he is a keen follower of the English club Arsenal during the live show with Sony Sports ahead of the second Test between India and Bangladesh that kicked off on December 23, Friday. Further, the right-handed batter asked Sourav Ganguly about the jersey that the former Arsenal captain gave him, that the southpaw is yet to return.

Gavaskar said that he used to have banter with his son and claimed that the latter was an ardent fan of the football club Manchester United. The legendary cricketer revealed that if his son asks him about the footballers he knew, Gavaskar would say about Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp.

“I've been an Arsenal follower - I won't say a fan so much - been a follower for a long time. I used to tease my son who is a Manchester United fan that I am an Arsenal fan and he would ask 'Tell me 4 names from the Arsenal team'. I would say Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp. Even Arsene Wenger is an uncanny lookalike of my hero ML Jaisimha, so that's an additional factor. Henry was someone who I really admired watching and he also has signed a shirt for me," Gavaskar was quoted as saying to Sony Sports Network.

Where is that shirt?: Sunil Gavaskar

“Sourav Ganguly... hello? Where is that shirt? I am coming to Kolkata for the game on the 12th and Sourav, you better this time - I don't want any excuses. You are no longer the BCCI president. You have a little more time on your hands. Find that shirt which Henry had signed for me and please give it to me when I come there on the 12th," Gavaskar said further.

India are currently facing off the Bangla Tigers in the second Test and it remains to be seen if the KL Rahul-led team would clinch the win, eventually going on to win the series. The Indian camp won the first Test by a whopping margin of 188 runs, attracting praise from all ends of the world.
