Rishabh Pant shocked everyone on 30 December 2022 when he got involved in a horrible road accident. Pant was going to Roorkee from Delhi. During that journey, he hit his car with the railing and the car caught fire. The incident took place on the Narsan border of Roorkee near Hammadpur Jhal.

Somehow, the fire got under control and Pant was taken to Saksham Hospital on Delhi Road. After that, he is now under full treatment at Dehradun’s Max Hospital. The Indian Cricket Board shared an update that read: Pant “has two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee and has also hurt his right ankle, tow and has suffered abrasion injuries on his back.” Now, the former World Cup-winning skipper reacted to this accident.

“I’m just thankful to god that Rishabh Pant is safe” - Kapil Dev

While talking to ABP News, Kapil Dev said: “This is learning. When I was still an up-and-coming cricketer, I faced a motorcycle accident. From that day onwards, my brother didn’t even let me touch the motorbike. I’m just thankful to god that Rishabh Pant is safe.”

“Yes, you have a good-looking car with great speeds but you have to be careful. You can easily afford a driver, you don’t have to drive it alone. I understand that one has hobbies or even passion for such things, it’s natural to have them at his age, but you also have responsibilities. Only you can take care of yourself. You have to decide for yourself,” Kapil Dev concluded.

Speaking about Rishabh Pant’s condition, he has been responding well to the treatment as of now. Regarding his situation, Dr. Qamar Azam at the AIIMS Rishikesh said, “Pant will take at least three to six months to recover from the ligament injury. And if it’s severe, he may take more time. Further evaluation can be based on his detailed injury report.” However, his participation in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy and Indian T20 League has become doubtful.
