You don't have to prepare Ishan Kishan, he is a ready player: Harbhajan Singh

India finds itself in a position where it has a surplus of openers, but not a chance to play them. Some players have been benched for a while when they don't deserve to. Others still wait for a call-up. Ishan Kishan, on the other hand, has been in and out of the playing XI for a while. He deserves a spot in the team but usually falls second to other options.

Harbhajan Singh has now stated that Ishan Kishan is ready to open for the team and KL Rahul can fit in at number five. If he can bat at that position in ODIs, he can also do the same in the T20 games. KL Rahul is equipped with the ability to big shots, Harbhajan said.

Speaking on a Star Sports show 'Game Plan,' he said, "In my opinion, you don't have to prepare Ishan Kishan, he is a ready player. You have to play him, you have to think how you can get him in. If you can bat KL Rahul at No. 5 in ODIs, why not in this format?"

"We understand that when he comes down the order in ODIs, he is capable of playing the big shots. So if he bats at No. 5 in T20Is, I feel it will not be a bad thing because you will get a strong middle order and along with that if you want to score 40-60 runs in the first six, you need a fearless player like Ishan Kishan up the order," he explained further.

Ishan Kishan got the chance to open for India in the first ODI of the series against the West Indies as Rahul was unavailable. He scored 28 runs but was dropped for the 2nd game upon Rahul's return.
