The T20 World Cup 2022, which will be held in Australia, is less than 100 days away. The mega event will kick off on October 22nd, with Australia taking on New Zealand in the first match of the super 12 stages. The Group matches, however, will begin on the 16th of October.
England's barmy army shared a post on their Twitter handle on the 8th of July. "100 DAYS UNTIL THE T20 WORLD CUP!" read the caption. However, the image that they posted has not gone well with the fans.
They posted an image from the last edition of the T20 World Cup played in the UAE. Jos Buttler can be seen jumping over Steve Smith in the image. It implied that England will crush the hosts during the visit.

The fans slammed Barmy Army for this 'Over Confident' post. Many fans expressed concern that doing so would not help their chances of winning the World Cup. "You guys better improve your humour. This is just a fuc*ing game, no need to insult anyone," a fan wrote.
In the meantime, England is current;y playing a T20I series against India at home. The first match of the series played at The Rose Bowl did not go as the hosts would have hoped. India crushed them with a 50-run victory to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
India batted first and scored 199 runs. Hardik Pandya was the standout of the game, hitting 51 runs in 33 balls. The England batting collapsed in the next innings after failing to form any meaningful partnerships. Despite being dropped a few times, England had no impact in the match.
They were all-out for a score of 148 runs. Moeen Ali was England's highest run-scorer in the innings, with 36 runs in 20 balls. The series' next match will be contested on June 9th at Birmingham's Edgbaston Stadium. The team captained by Jos Buttler will try to win the game and level the series.
