India's next assignment will be 5 T20Is against West Indies. India will be playing their 200th T20I match when they face West Indies in Trinidad. The five T20Is will be played in West Indies and USA at Lauderhill. India has had a decent run in T20Is, the last series against the West Indies was won 4-1 by India. This time around the Men in Blue will not have experienced warhorses in Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
The Indian T20I team includes a number of young players such as Tilak Varma, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and others who are part of the squad. The side will be led by Hardik Pandya in this historic T20 game. When it comes to the bowling department, Mukesh Kumar, who impressed during the ODIs against the West Indies, could make his debut in the shortest format. Avesh Khan and Ravi Bishnoi also have made comebacks to the Indian T20 side.
Nicholas Pooran and Shai Hope have been recalled back to the T20I squad against India
When it comes to the West Indies, they will want to look for a fresh start as they are coming off the back of a disastrous campaign at the ODI World Cup qualifiers in Zimbabwe. The Men in Maroon lost games to Scotland, Ireland and Netherlands. When it comes to their T20I squad, ODI captain Shai Hope has been recalled and so has Nicholas Pooran. The left-hander has been in terrific form at Major League Cricket where he smashed a 40-ball hundred in the final against Seatle Orcas.
When it comes to T20I World Cups, India won the inaugural edition in 2007 under the leadership of MS Dhoni. Since then the men in Blue have not been able to repeat the feat having come to the final of the T20 World Cup in 2014 in Bangladesh. In the 2022 edition, India lost to England in the semi-finals.
Here are the T20I squads of the two sides:
India: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ishan Kishan(w), Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, Sanju Samson, Hardik Pandya(c), Axar Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, Arshdeep Singh, Umran Malik, Mukesh Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav, Avesh Khan, Ravi Bishnoi, Tilak Varma
West Indies: Kyle Mayers, Johnson Charles, Nicholas Pooran(w), Shai Hope, Shimron Hetmyer, Rovman Powell(c), Jason Holder, Akeal Hosein, Alzarri Joseph, Obed McCoy, Oshane Thomas, Brandon King, Odean Smith, Roston Chase, Romario Shepherd

I was 15 when India won T20 WC last time. Now I'm 31 and still waiting for another WC. Btw we have played 16 IPL seasons 😂😂🤦 and yet to win a single trophy. IPL is useless.

I still don't understand why Avesh Khan is included on every possible list of Indian cricket players, given that he hasn't shown any noteworthy talent at the domestic or international levels.
