The stage was set for a great final between Pakistan and England at the MCG on 13 November 2022. The Men in Green came to this encounter by defeating the Kiwis in Sydney. On the other hand, England defeated the Men in Blue In Adelaide in the semi-final. So, fans were hoping to see a great end to this year’s 20-20 World Cup.

Speaking about the match, Jos Buttler won the toss and asked Pakistan to bat first. Meanwhile, both teams did not make changes in their lineup from their respective semi-final clashes. For the Men in Green, the skipper Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan came out to open the innings.

While batting first, Pakistan scored 137 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. Shan Masood scored 38 runs off 28 balls, including two fours and one six. Babar Azam scored 32 runs off 28 balls, including two fours only. For England, Sam Curran took three wickets for 12 runs in his four overs. Along with him, Adil Rashid and Chris Jordan took two wickets each against the Men in Green.

While chasing the target, England were struggling after the first six overs. They were at 49 runs for three wickets. But, Ben Stokes showed his class again in a World Cup final like he did in the 2019 50-over World Cup final. That day, he came up with a match-winning knock, and now, he scored 52* runs off 49 balls to win this final. His inning helped England to chase down the target in 19 overs with five wickets to spare. Before this final, he managed only 58 runs in five innings. But, again in a pressure game like the final, he scored a match-winning fifty for his side. Fans went crazy after seeing such a performance from the star England batter in the World Cup final.
