The costliest over record, move aside. The delivery that costs the most is a contender right now. Abhishek Tanwar, the fast bowler captain of the Salem Spartans in the present Tamil Nadu Premier League, ultimately gave up 26 runs in the penultimate over of the Chepauk Super Gillies innings, which included 18 runs off a single ball.

The first five balls of Abhishek Tanwar's dismal 20th over saw him give up 8 runs. Sanjay Yadav was nevertheless dismissed by him on the last ball of the over. The joy, however, was short-lived when it became clear that Tanwar had overstepped, making the delivery a no-ball.

Tanwar then made another no-ball, which allowed Sanjay Yadav to score a six. An additional no-ball from Tanwar made matters worse by allowing Sanjay Yadav to score two runs and then strike again. Tanwar's problems persisted when he bowled a wide ball, which was quickly followed by another no-ball, which led to Sanjay Yadav launching yet another six.

‘I have to take the blame’ – Abhishek Tanwar

“I have to take the blame for the last over - four no-balls being a senior bowler was disappointing. The wind did not help as it played a huge role," Tanwar said during the post-match presentation.

Chepauk Super Gillies recorded a staggering total of 217 runs on the board while only losing five wickets thanks to this final over. Salem Spartans were unsuccessful in their pursuit, scoring only 165 runs and losing nine wickets in the allotted 20 overs. With a commanding 52-run victory, the Super Gillies kicked off their tournament run successfully.
