Chennai and Lucknow locked horns in the sixth match of the ongoing Indian T20 League 2023; both teams played this match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Lucknow skipper KL Rahul won the flip of the coin and decided to bowl first. Batting first, the yellow outfits managed to post a big total of 217 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

While chasing the target, Lucknow could score 205 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the entire 20 overs and lost the match by 12 runs. Speaking of the entire action of the match, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway started things in style for Chennai. The opening duo of Chennai managed to stitch an amazing opening partnership of 110 runs for the first wicket in 9.1 overs. Gaikwad played this season’s second consecutive half-century by scoring 57 runs off 31 balls including three boundaries and four sixes to his name.

Whereas, the senior southpaw contributed with 47 runs off 29 balls with five sixes and two sixes. Skipper MS Dhoni himself also played a brief cameo of 12 runs off just 3 balls with two consecutive big sixes against Mark Wood. On the back of these two knocks, MS Dhoni’s men posted a decent total of 217 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
