Team India will be back in action in 2023 with the three-match T20I series at home against Sri Lanka. The series will start on 3 January followed by a three-match ODI series. However, all eyes are on the Men in Blue on how they will perform in the 2023 ODI World Cup in India. In 2022, they failed to win any major titles despite being one of the favorites.

So, Rohit Sharma and his men will look to do well this year. Fans were also not happy as they slammed Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid for such disappointing results. However, the Indian Cricket Board arranged a performance review meeting in Mumbai on 1 January 2023. This meeting was held to set the future steps for the betterment of Indian Cricket along with the overall performance review from 2022.

In an official statement, the Indian Cricket Board said: “The Indian Cricket Board on Sunday convened the review meeting of Team India (Senior Men) in Mumbai. The meeting was attended by the Board President Mr. Roger Binny, Honorary Secretary Mr. Jay Shah, Indian Captain Mr. Rohit Sharma, Team India (Senior Men) Head Coach Mr. Rahul Dravid, Head of Cricket (NCA) Mr. VVS Laxman and Chairman of Senior Men Selection Committee Mr. Chetan Sharma.” As a result of the meeting, the Board made some notable decisions going forward to the 50-over World Cup.

In 2022, team India suffered many injury concerns. Big players like Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah missed major tournaments for injuries. Therefore, the Board has announced that both Yo-Yo Test and Dexa will now be part of the selection criteria. VVS Laxman-led National Cricket Academy (NCA) will work with Indian T20 League franchises to monitor players’ fitness, especially those who have a history of injuries. Apart from all these, the Board has already shortlisted a pool of 20 players for the upcoming 2023 ODI World Cup. Only these players will get a chance to play for India in the next 35 ODIs in 2023. Hearing that, fans looked happy and they came up with their views.
