After years of hard work, determination and impressive performances in the domestic circuit, Yashasvi Jaiswal achieved what he dreamed of and deserved. The 21-year-old earned a maiden national call-up in the Test format and accepted it with open arms, smashing a well-disciplined century to win the Player of the Match award.

From scoring the fastest half-century in the 2023 Indian Premier League to playing a proper Test knock demonstrates Jaiswal's versatility. Assigned to open the innings alongside captain Rohit Sharma against West Indies, the young lad hit his maiden international century and became the fourth youngest debutant Test opener to score a century.

Jaiswal led his team deep into the game after setting up a record partnership with Rohit. He later completed his 150 and was eventually out on 171 off 387 balls. His family was working hard to accomplish their proud son's long-held dream as he was setting the tone for Team India's Test team moving forward.

According to Indian Express, Jasiwal's brother Tejsvi, mother and other family members were busy shifting from their 2BHK rented accommodation to their new five-bedroom flat. His brother said that it was Jaiswal's dream to have his own house. Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh-born cricketer's father was on Kanwar Yatra, but he followed the match on his phone and prayed for his son's success.

“He kept telling us, ‘please shift soon, I don't want to stay in this house'. Even during the Test match, he would ask about our shifting plans. All his life, he had just one wish, to have his own house. You know how he has come up, he understands the importance of a roof over his head, especially in Mumbai,” Tejsvi told The Indian Express.

"Would like to thank all the selectors and Rohit (Sharma) bhai for having faith in me. It is really nice, I have been working for this. I have been focusing on preparing well and having discipline. Playing Test cricket for India is very special and emotional for me. This is just the start, I need to keep my focus and keep working on my cricket. Lot of people helped me through my journey and I want to thank each and everyone of them. It was tremendous batting with the senior players. I look forward to learning more from them," the left-hander said at the post-match presentation.
