Bangalore and UP locked horns in the 13th game of the ongoing Women's T20 League 2023 at the D.Y Patil Stadium, Mumbai. The Red Army needed their first win of the tournament as they had lost all five games in the tournament. Also, they lost the reverse fixture against the Luckn0w-based side by 10 wickets. On the other hand, Uttar Pradesh was also coming off a loss.

However, they have a better situation than Bangalore as they have won two out of four. Meanwhile, in the game, Bangalore won the toss and elected to bowl first. Skipper Smriti Mandhana said at the toss "It's a fresh wicket, so we will bowl first and hope to chase down the total." The team had a great start as Sophie Devine trapped Devika Vaidya for lbw in the second ball of the game.

However, the Bangalore bowlers didn't stop there. They took five wickets for just 31 runs. At this stage, the likes of Grace Harris and Deepti Sharma put together 69 runs for the sixth wicket. However, after this partnership was broken, the last wickets fell quickly and the team was bowled out for 135. For Bangalore, Ellyse Perry took three wickets while Sobhana Asha and Sophie Devine took two each.
