'Aur karo isse drop' - Fans react to Ravichandran Ashwin creating history by becoming first Indian bowler to take father and son's wicket in Test

As expected India started in a terrific manner in the first session of the ongoing first Test match against the West Indies at Dominica. Both the pace bowlers, Mohammed Siraj and Jaydev Unadkat bowled beautifully in right areas and made it difficult for both the opening batter to score freely. Though the pitch had a little bit of assistance for the fast bowlers but the way both the Indian bowlers bowled was very impressive.

After Siraj and Unadkat toiled hard with some hostile bowling but could not get a wicket, Captain Rohit then turned to the magician Ravichandran Ashwin who without taking any time got rid of Tagenarine Chanderpaul with a superb ball. But by picking this wicket, Ashwin created history, He became the first Indian bowler to dismiss the father-son duo in the game’s longest format.

Ravichandran Ashwin had also taken the wicket of Shivnarine Chanderpaul, who is the father of the West Indies current opening batter, Tagenarine. Ashwin beautifully set up the southpaw. He failed to read the line and length of a ball that came in and was bowled. It is certainly turning out to be a great day so far for the spin wizard as the legendary spinner even overtook arguably one of the best spin bowlers, Anil Kumble to become the Indian with the most number of bowled dismissals in Test cricket. Ravichandran Ashwin got his 95th scalp, overtaking Anil Kumble (94), and is followed by Kapil Dev (88) and Mohammed Shami (66).

After getting the wicket of Chanderpaul, Ashwin struck again when he removed the West Indies skipper Kraigg Brathwaite. The off-spinner bowled it full as Brathwaite looked to slop but ended up hitting it with a leading edge that went straight into the hands of his opposite number, Team India captain Rohit Sharma. Earlier, in the day West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first. For India, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ishan Kishan made their Test debut.

Here are some of the tweets from fans after Ashwin created the history;
