Star Indian all-rounder Axar Patel is playing a crucial role in the Indian batting during the ongoing fourth and last of the four-match Test series; He is sojourned there in the middle with the former skipper and batting superstar Virat Kohli. The duo has stitched an all-important partnership of 132 runs for the sixth wicket so far on the fourth day of the match.

Apart from Kohli’s brilliant 169 runs, Axar is currently batting on the individual score of 57 runs at the time of filling this copy. He has smashed four boundaries and two sixes so far during his knock.

Speaking of the other action of the match, the young Indian opener Shubman Gill played an amazing century knock of 128 runs off 235 balls with 12 boundaries and a six with the wood. Other than Gill, the senior batters, Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara also scored 35 and 42 runs respectively followed by Ravindra Jadeja and Srikar Bharat with individual knocks of 28 and 44 runs respectively.

The veteran spinner Nathan Lyon and young lad  Todd Murphy have scalped two wickets each so far in the first Indian innings. Other than these two, Matthew Kuhnemann has also claimed a wicket on his credit.

Coming back to Virat Kohli, he has scored his Test career’s 28^th century and overall 75^th international century; notably, he is only the second batter in the world to score the most international centuries just after the former legendary Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar, who has 100 international centuries to his name.

This century has come for Virat Kohli after a long wait of 3 years, 3 months, and 17 days in the longest format of the game. He is also nearing his career’s eighth double-century in the ongoing first innings in the Ahmedabad Test.
