Star Pakistan batter and skipper Babar Azam achieved a new feat in the ongoing 2nd ODI of the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan. He has become the highest run scorer in ODI history after playing in the first 100 ODI innings of his career. He surpassed the former South African batting great Hashim Amla who had 4946 runs after 100 innings with an average of 53.18, including 17 centuries and 28 half-centuries.
Now, Babar has scored 5089 runs in 100 innings with a commendable average of 58.49, including 18 centuries and 26 half-centuries. The third name in the list is none other than the former Caribbean batting legend Sir Viv Richards, who scored 4607 runs in his first 100 innings with an average of 56.87, having 8 centuries and 26 half-centuries.

Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq taking charge in Pakistan's run-chase against Afghanistan
Currently, Babar Azam is in action with the men in green in the ongoing second ODI of the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan. Pakistan are currently chasing the target of 301 runs posted by Afghanistan as they scored 300 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the first innings.
Young opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz stunned everyone by ripping apart the mighty bowling attack of Pakistan; he scored a sensational century and contributed with the astonishing knock of 151 runs, including 14 fours and 3 sixes with the willow. Other than him, his opening partner, Ibrahim Zadran also smashed 80 runs, with 6 fours and 2 sixes.
The star opening duo stitched an amazing partnership of 227 runs for the first wicket before Zadran fell prey to Usama Mir in the 40th over of the first innings.
