Babar Azam found guilty of two traffic violations in Lahore, gets reprimanded - Reports

It looks like things are going south for the Pakistan skipper Babar Azam with every passing day. Recently, his captaincy skills were under the scanner after the men in green got knocked out from the Asia Cup 2023 following a defeat against Sri Lanka in the last super-4 match. Later, India won their eighth Asia Cup title after defeating the hosts, Sri Lanka by a massive margin of 10 wickets.

Now, Babar engaged in another fresh controversy, the media reports have learned that the star Lahore batter was imposed a fine by the traffic authorities on Sunday, September 17. The fine is reported to be imposed on Babar for the traffic violations in the Gulberg Area of his hometown, Lahore.

A report in the Geo News understood that Babar was fined INR 570 which goes to approximately 2,000 in PKR (Pakistan Currency) for two traffic violations.

Speaking of cricket, the Pakistan Team have been granted visas for their travel to India for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023. There were a lot of rumours and news around the ‘visa concern’ of the Pakistan Cricket Team with the Indian Cricket Board.

PCB clears their stance on visa issues amidst media rumours

But PCB’s official statement cleared all the doubts and shut all the speculations which were being made by Pakistan-based journalists on social media.

“Despite being the last to apply for a visa, we were promised by BCCI and the Indian Government that the visas would be issued by 25th September which also happened. We would like to thank the Indian Government and BCCI, especially Secretary Jay Shah for the prompt action at their end,” said PCB in their official statement.

“We would also request our stakeholders especially learned journalists not to further or add fuel to rumours on this matter,” the statement adds further.

Pakistan will start their ODI World Cup 2023 campaign with their first match against the Netherlands at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad on Friday, October 6.
