Asia Cup 2023

Even after a compromised and tough understanding between India and Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023, there is a team who is not happy with this hybrid model of the tournament. Notably, the 16th edition of the continental tournament will be jointly hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The tournament will commence on the 30th of August next month between Pakistan and Nepal at the Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh has come up with dissatisfaction over the traveling itinerary and the entire schedule of the tournament. It is also because they will be playing their first match in the tournament on 31st of the August at Kandy in Sri Lanka against Sri Lanka. Whereas they will have to travel all the way to Lahore in Pakistan for their second match on the 3rd of September.

"Yes, we have to go to Lahore to play the first match. There are two matches in the first round, one in Sri Lanka and the other one in Pakistan. We have to go as we can do nothing actually,” said Bangladesh Cricket Board operation chairman Jalal Yunus.

“After the 31st the next match is on 3rd . To make the journey comfortable the Asia Cup authorities have decided to travel the teams in chartered flights. We will travel by chartered planes. This is the responsibility of the Asian Cricket Council. Of course, we would like to travel by quality airline, if that is a national airline or a chartered plane definitely that would be good for everyone," he added later.

Here's what Jalal Yunus said further on Asia Cup 2023

Furthermore, Jalal Yunus also felt that the hectic schedule and so much traveling might affect the performance of the players in the tournament.

"If you travel certainly there will be an impact which I feel because when you are travelling by air you will have to go two hours earlier and carry your luggage and preparing all these things is mentally stressful. Pakistan is far away from Sri Lanka. So, there is nothing to do, since it is ACC's decision, everyone is playing like this. We also have to accept it," he concluded.
